In the history of 100 years, many organizations including BJP, World Hindu Council and ABVP were born from RSS.
Hundred years of establishment of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) have been completed. In 1925, on the day of Vijayadashami, it was established in Nagpur led by Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar. The date was 27 September. However, the Sangh celebrates its foundation day only on Vijayadashami. This year, the centenary year celebrations will start on Vijayadashami, it will run for two years.
Many organizations were born from the RSS. They were made for different needs. Let us know how many organizations were born from RSS and what is their work?
Jana Sangh and Bharatiya Janata Party
In the year 1951, Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee founded the political organization Bharatiya Jana Sangh, which was considered as the political unit of the Sangh. However, in the year 1977, the Jan Sangh and other parties were merged and the Janata Party was formed, then the members associated with the Sangh separated from it. He created a new political organization Bharatiya Janata Party. It was established on 6 April 1980 under the chairmanship of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Its purpose was to establish a strong, rich and powerful country. Over time, the Bharatiya Janata Party made its own identity as a political party and today claims to be the highest number of members in the world.
Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh and Bharatiya Kisan Sangh
After the independence of the country, the socialist and Marxist labor movements were prevalent. In response to this, on 23 July 1955, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) was established by Dattopant Thengdi in Bhopal. It is a labor organization that is not directly connected to any political party and works for the benefit of workers. However, this organization also keeps the national interest above labor interests.
Similarly, to protect the interests of the farmers, Dattopant Thengdi established the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh on 4 March 1979 in Kota, Rajasthan. Its goal is to make the overall development of the farmers of India. Through this organization, technological innovations in farming are encouraged. At the same time, environment tries to maintain the importance of conservation and traditional Indian agricultural practices.
All india students council
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad is a subsidiary unit of the Sangh. It was established on 9 July 1949 under the leadership of Sangh activist Balraj Madhok. Today, this organization claims to be the largest students in the world. The goal of this organization is to awaken the spirit of patriotism among the students and to set them up in the works of building the nation. Apart from this, ABVP education system has also been leading the students’ movements for the interest of students.
Vishvadh
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) was established in Mumbai on the day of Sri Krishna Janmashtami in the year 1964 to organize Hindus around the world and propagate Hindu life philosophy. The VHP played a major role in the movement for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. Apart from this, campaigns like homecoming have also been running.
The youth branches of Vishwa Hindu Parishad are Bajrang Dal and Durga Vahini. Bajrang Dal is for men and Durga Vahini women. They were formed to carry forward the issue of Hindutva.
Vidya Bharati
In the year 1952, an educational institution like Saraswati Shishu Mandir was established. Ahead of this, Vidya Bharati was established in Delhi in the year 1977, which has become the largest non -government education organization in the country today. It is claimed that about 30 thousand schools are being operated under this. Its goal is to give education based on Indian culture as well as rituals.
Swadeshi Jagran Manch
In the meeting of representatives of five organizations Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, ABVP, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, All India Customer Panchayat and Sahakar Bharti, the Swadeshi Jagran Manch in Nagpur was formed on 22 November 1991 in response to the new economic policy of this year. Its goal was to protect Indian markets and promote indigenous products. This platform runs a campaign to boycott foreign products and encourage local products.
Sanskar Bharati
Sanskar Bharati was established in Lucknow in January 1981 to promote national consciousness through fine arts. This organization attempts to conserve and promote Indian culture through art exhibition, seminar and literature publication.
National Sikh Sangat and Muslim National Forum
A subsidiary organizations of the Union such as the National Sikh Sangat and Muslim Rashtriya Manch have been created to establish access to the minorities. The National Sikh spreads the knowledge of Sangat Gurbani. At the same time, the Muslim national platform promotes the spirit of nationality among Muslims. Through these, the notion has also been challenged that the Sangh is only based on Hindu majorityism.
Balasaheb Deoras established Seva Bharati to make the underprivileged and neglected self -reliant and self -reliant. Such a parallel women’s organization of RSS is the Rashtriya Sevika Samiti. It was also founded by Laxmibai Kelkar (Mausi) in 1936 in Wardha on the day of Vijayadashami. This organization reflects the philosophy of a separate platform for women.
