The BJP has announced its decision to field Lankala Deepak Reddy as its candidate in Jubilee Hills bypoll.
Deepak Reddy contested as the Jubilee Hills BJP candidate in 2023 Telangana Assembly elections as well. Currently, he is serving as the Hyderabad Central District President.
The bypoll is being held after BRS MLA Maganti Gopinath passed away on June 8 this year due to health reasons. Polling will be held on November 11 and counting of votes will be done on the 14th.
Who are the candidates from major parties?
The BRS is fielding late Maganti Gopinath’s wife Maganti Sunitha while Naveen Yadav will contest on Congress ticket.
Maganti Sunitha filed her nomination on Wednesday at the Sheikhpet Tahsildar’s office and she was accompanied by party working president KTR, leaders and activists.
About 21 other candidates have filed their nominations as independents and from other smaller parties. The last day to file nominations is October 21.
The neighbourhoods of Erragadda, Borabanda, Yousufguda, Sheikpet, Vengalrao nagar, Rahamat nagar make up the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency.
