Rahul Gandhi On EC: Congress leader and LoP Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Friday, once again fired a salvo at the Election Commission of India, accusing the poll body of collusion with the Bharatiya Janata Party to steal votes. The fresh allegations come a day after Gandhi dropped the data ‘bomb’ by presenting documents to support his claims of discrepancies in the voter list in several states, including Maharashtra, Karnataka and Haryana.
On Friday, the Congress leader shared an 8-minute video on X to back his allegations that the Election Commission of India and the BJP “colluded to steal votes”.
Vote Chori सिर्फ़ एक चुनावी घोटाला नहीं, ये संविधान और लोकतंत्र के साथ किया गया बड़ा धोखा है।

Betrayal Committed Against The Constitution: Gandhi
Gandhi posted the video with the caption, “Vote theft is not just an electoral scam, it is a major betrayal committed against the Constitution and democracy. Let the nation’s culprits hear this – times will change, punishment will surely be meted out.”

In the video, the Congress leader is heard as saying that he understands the function of an election, as he has been contesting elections for over 20 years. “Priyanka and I used to lay election posters in the 80s. I understand elections. I’ve been contesting for 20 years,” he said.
Describing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls as an “institutionalised chori”, he claimed that the Election Commission is “openly colluding” with the BJP to carry out this “theft” with the objective of taking away the voting rights of the poor.
Citing the probe, Gandhi goes on to repeat his claims in the video that over 1 lakh votes were “stolen” through five types of manipulation in the assembly segment of Mahadevapura in Karnataka’s Bangalore Central Lok Sabha seat. He says that 1,00,250 votes were stolen in the Mahadevapura assembly segment in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
