Birsa Munda Jayanti: On the 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav gave a check of Rs 1 crore to Women’s World Cup winning cricketer Kranti Gond.
Tribal Pride Day celebration was organized on 15th November in Jabalpur, the cultural capital of Madhya Pradesh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually attended the ceremony organized on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda as the chief guest. The program was inaugurated by Governor Mangubhai Patel and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav by garlanding the pictures of tribal heroes. He launched Shalini App. During this, a short film focusing on sickle cell anemia was also screened. After that there was collective singing of the national anthem and the national song Vande Mataram. In the programme, a check of Rs 1 crore was handed over to Kranti Gaur of Chhatarpur, who performed brilliantly in the Women’s Cricket World Cup. Apart from them, Padmashri Arjun Singh Ghurve, Fuljhariya Bai, Vikram Awardee Ragini Marco, Srishti Singh were also honored.
In the program, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the welfare of the tribal class is continuously improving. We are happy that the largest population of tribal society lives in Madhya Pradesh. We are proud that our tribal brothers and sisters fought for freedom against the British Empire on which the sun never set. Our tribal society sacrificed everything to protect water, forests, land and our self-respect.
Tribal heroes made immense sacrifices for freedom
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who joined the program virtually from Gujarat, said that events are being organized across the country on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda. Tribal community is being promoted in every field

In the last two decades, more than 10 thousand schools and 2 dozen colleges of science-art-commerce subjects have been built in tribal areas. Two tribal universities were built in Gujarat. Tribal children are becoming doctors and engineers today. They are doing government jobs. He said that more than Rs 18 thousand crores have been spent on Eklavya schools in the country. There has been an increase of 60 percent in the admissions of these schools. Tribal youth have a big contribution in increasing the prestige of the country in the world. Now the Indian women’s cricket team has created history by winning the World Cup. There is a tribal daughter in that team also.
Central government schemes being launched in tribal areas
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that many schemes of the Central Government are being launched in tribal areas. Ayushman Arogya Mandirs were started from Chhattisgarh. We started PM Janman Yojana from Khunti village of Jharkhand. I am the first Prime Minister of the country, who visited the village of Lord Birsa Munda. Under the Dharti Aaba Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, plans are being prepared in the Panchayats on health-education-agriculture-clean drinking water in the villages. Our government is promoting coarse grains. Tribal brothers and sisters are getting its benefits. PM Modi said that there has been a danger of sickle cell anemia in tribal communities. So far, 6 crore people have been screened in the country. Language barriers are being eliminated in the education of tribal children. Art and painting are prevalent in tribal society. Painter Pareshbhai Rathwa of this community has received the Padma Award.
No one should be left behind in development

There are Chief Ministers from tribal communities in Chhattisgarh-Odisha-Arunachal Pradesh-Nagaland. Mangubhai Patel, who comes from the tribal community of Madhya Pradesh, is the Governor. Statue of Lord Birsa Munda unveiled in Alirajpur
Earlier, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav unveiled the life-size statues of Lord Birsa Munda and local tribal leader Chhitu Kirar in Alirajpur. He also performed Bhoomi Pujan of development works costing Rs 49.73 crore and inaugurated development works costing Rs 194.87 crore. On this occasion, he said that today is more than Diwali and Holi for us. The 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Mund is being celebrated with great pomp.
