Bihar: What is Prashant Kishore’s new challenge for Nitish Kumar?

Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj Party could not win even a single seat in Bihar elections. After the defeat, he challenged and said, if Nitish government can give Rs 2 lakh each to women, then they will leave politics. PK also accused JDU of buying votes.

PK New Challenge for Nitish Kumar: Election strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor’s Jansuraj Party lost badly in the recently held Bihar assembly elections. Prashant Kishore, chief of Jansuraj, which could not even open its account in Bihar, has presented a new challenge to the government led by Janata Dal United (JDU) chief and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

What is Prashant Kishore’s new challenge for Nitish?

After the crushing defeat of his party Jansuraj in the first election contest, Prashant Kishore took full responsibility for it and admitted that his party had failed to bring about change of power in Bihar. However, he gave a new challenge to the Nitish Kumar-led government, saying that if it fulfills its promise of giving Rs 2 lakh each to 1.5 crore women of the state, he will definitely leave politics.

What did PK say about Nitish before Bihar elections?

Prashant Kishor was referring to a challenge given by him before the Bihar elections, in which he had reportedly said that he would retire from politics if JD(U) won more than 25 seats. PK reiterated his comment on Tuesday, alleging that if JD(U) had not given ₹10,000 to more than 60,000 beneficiaries in each constituency, its quota would have been limited to just 25 seats.

Nitish bought 60,000 votes by paying Rs 10,000

“There is only one thing standing between Nitish Kumar and his victory – buying 60,000 votes by paying ₹10,000 in each assembly constituency. It should be clear whether this was vote buying or part of the self-employment programme,” PK said. Prashant Kishor said, “We have suffered a setback, but we will correct our mistakes, strengthen ourselves and come back with a bang. There is no question of looking back for us.”

PK’s Jansuraj could not win even a single seat in 243 seats.

In Bihar elections, Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) contested 101 seats and won 85 seats. At the same time, NDA’s biggest ally BJP won 89 seats by fighting on the same number of seats. In contrast, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj Party fielded candidates on all 243 seats but did not get a single seat. Let us tell you that after the spectacular victory in Bihar elections, NDA is ready to form the government again in the state on November 20.
