Bihar Sir New Update: Where did the Congress’s 89 lakh claim-objection applications go? Election Commission opened poll Election Commission Exped Congress Claim on Bihar Sir Voter List

The Congress and the Election Commission are face to face on the special intensive revision (SIR) of the voter list before the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. The Congress claimed to give 89 lakh claims and objections, but the Commission completely rejected it.

Bihar sir latest update: In the preparation of Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, political differences over the special intensive revision (SIR) of the voter list have reached its peak. Recently, the Congress party had made a big claim that it has submitted more than 89 lakh claims and objections to the Election Commission, which are necessary to improve the voter list disturbances. But the Election Commission has strictly denied this claim, saying that no legitimate claims or objections from the Congress are recorded in their records.

Election Commission officials have clarified that under the SIR issued in Bihar, it is necessary to follow the format and forms set for claims and objections. According to the Commission, neither any district president nor booth level agents have presented any claims or objections in the prescribed forms like Form-6, 7, 8 on behalf of the Congress. In such a situation, the claim of the Congress giving 89 lakh applications is factually baseless.

2 parties filled the correct form

According to the Election Commission, political parties that have given claims and objections with appropriate form are CPIML and RJD. CPIML has given valid applications for a total of 103 names and adding 15 names, while applications have been received by RJD to add 10 names. The Commission has also clarified that submission of collective list at the district president level is not considered as voter claims or objections, but only evidence of receipt.

Problems in the list of women also

Amidst this dispute, there are problems in the voter list regarding the voter names of women. The Commission says that duplicate entry has been made more due to the names of women in rural areas, sometimes at the husband’s address, sometimes at the father’s address. Due to this, mistakes seen in the proportion of women in the voter list are considered sexually fair. The Commission has described them as ‘transfer’, ‘migration’ and ‘dead’ categories.

First time voter more than 1.5 million applications

Apart from this, new voters who have completed their nomination process for the first time in Bihar for more than 15 lakhs for the first time have also given the application to the Commission. This number reflects the growing role of young voters in the election and can affect the election results.

It is clear in the data released by the Election Commission that the SIR process is moving forward with transparency even amidst controversies. The Commission has already issued instructions to all political parties to strictly follow the statutory forms prescribed for the voting list, so that the process remains correct and fair.
