Bihar Rain Alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain in 13 districts of Bihar for the next two days.
Along with heavy rain, these districts are likely to witness winds of up to 30 to 40 kilometers per hour, thunderstorms, and lightning. The weather department, in its advisory, has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings during the rainfall to avoid any inconveniences.
Rain Likely In These Districts
The meteorological department has issued a yellow alert in several districts, including Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Saharsa, Madhepura, Purnia, Katihar, Buxar, Bhojpur, Arwal, Aurangabad, Rohtas, and Kaimur. It further stated that some northern districts are likely to experience cloudy conditions throughout the day. While some regions are also likely to experience humid conditions, most of the districts are likely to experience rain in the evening hours.
As per the meteorological department, the monsoon will once again become active in Patna and nearby regions after a gap of around three days. A deep depression over north coastal Odisha and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal has persisted for several hours and is likely to move west-northwestward at a speed of about 12 km/h during the next 24 hours.
Rain Expected In Patna
The weather department stated that its effects will be experienced in various districts of Bihar over the next two to three days. As per the Patna Meteorological Center, thunderstorms and lightning are expected in various parts of the state, including Patna, over the next 24 hours, with winds gusting up to 30-40 kilometers per hour in many areas.
Earlier on Tuesday, Patna’s maximum temperature dropped by 1.2 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature was recorded at 29.2 degrees Celsius. The city is expected to remain cloudy and receive rain on Wednesday as well, providing relief from the humidity.
Along with Bihar, several other states, including Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Assam, are also likely to witness similar weather conditions.
