Election Assembly Elections: AI-generated videos will not be used for election campaigning during Bihar Assembly elections 2025. The Election Commission has banned the use of AI-generated videos during Bihar elections. This makes it clear that no candidate is allowed to use AI generated videos to campaign against their opponents in any form.
The Election Commission said, “This means that no candidate will be able to use AI video in any form to campaign against his opponents. These instructions are binding on all candidates.”
Voting for Bihar assembly elections will be held on 6-11 November
Bihar assembly elections will be held in two phases. Voting will be held on 6 and 11 November. The results will come on November 14. In order to conduct free and fair elections, the Election Commission has banned videos made with AI in view of the possibility of misuse of AI.
Model code of conduct of political parties will have to be followed
The Election Commission directive requires political parties to follow the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and related instructions while using AI for synthetic or artificial media. All content posted by candidates and parties on social media and the internet will fall within these guidelines.
According to the code of conduct, political commentary should be limited to other parties’ policies and programmes, past records and public actions. Parties should avoid criticism of the personal lives of leaders or workers unrelated to public activities. Parties and candidates must also refrain from making false allegations or criticizing others on the basis of distorted facts.

Following the new directive of the Election Commission, political parties, their leaders, candidates and official campaigners will not be able to use AI-generated videos for campaigning on social media or other platforms. The Election Commission has kept a close watch on social media posts. It is being seen whether the guidelines of the Model Code of Conduct are being followed or not. Violation of instructions will be dealt with strictly.
