Vijay Sinha News: The Election Commission has issued a notice to Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha in the double voter ID case. It is alleged that his name is registered in the voter list of Bankipur and Lakhisarai assembly constituencies in Patna. The reply has been sought till 14 August.

Bihar Chunav 2025: The Election Commission has sent a notice to Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha. The Election Officer of Bankipur has asked him why he is named in two places in the voter list? He has been asked to respond by 14 August. The Election Commission wants to know how his name is in the voter list of both Bankipur and Lakhisarai. Actually, Vijay Kumar Sinha’s name has been found in the voter list of two different assembly constituencies. A name is in polling station number 405 of 182-Bankipur assembly constituency, where their voter list number 757 and EPIC number AFS0853341. Another name is in 168-Lakhisarai assembly constituency, where his EPIC number is IAF3939337.

Election Commission asked for reply till 14 August

The Election Officer wrote in the notice, ‘Your name has been found in both places in the special intensive format, the voter list published during the special intensive revision, 2025. Even before this, your name was recorded in both places. He has asked Vijay Kumar Sinha to answer this by 5 pm on August 14, 2025 so that further action can be taken. It remains to be seen what the Deputy Chief Minister responds to this notice.

Cleanliness was given regarding dual voter ID card

At the same time, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha in Patna had clarified that earlier his name was registered in the voter list of Bankipur assembly constituency of Patna. In April 2024, he applied to get his name added to Lakhisarai and also applied online to remove the name from the voter list of Patna. However, for some reason the Election Commission did not remove his name from Patna and the form was rejected by the Election Commission. He said that during the SIR, when the Election Commission released the draft of the voter list, he came to know that his name was registered in two places. After this, on August 5, he applied to BLO and requested to remove his name from Patna’s voter list. He also showed both the receipts to the journalists.

Tejashwi Yadav accused Vijay Sinha

He said that the process of amendment is still going on by the Election Commission. The names of many people have been removed in this process. He clearly stated that the Election Commission’s mistake is considered when it does not give a chance to join the reform process. The final draft has not been published yet. The process of removing my name is going on. The Election Commission has given a month’s time for amendment. Earlier, Tejashwi Yadav accused Vijay Sinha of having two voter ID cards and said that he is named in the voter list of Bankipur and Lakhisarai in Patna.
