Notification was issued by the Department of Labor Resources in this regard on Wednesday. The new rate of minimum wages of workers will be effective from October 1, 2025.
According to the notification, the current wage rate of workers has been increased by four rupees, five rupees and six rupees respectively. According to the department, the minimum wage has been increased as dearness allowance. Earlier in April 2025, the minimum wage was increased.
State trained youth will get employment in food processing sector: Secretary
On the other hand, inaugurating Bihar Food Sector Industry Meet in Patna on Wednesday, Secretary, Labor Resources Department, Deepak Anand said that the youth trained in the state will have employment opportunities in the food processing sector. Quality skill training in the food processing sector will make Bihar a strong center of food industry.
Not only this, the initiative of skill training in the food processing sector will contribute significantly towards the target of generating one crore jobs from the state government. On this occasion, Mission Director Manish Shankar also signed a settlement letter (MoU) with Representative Subodh of Mumbai Dabbawala and Sachin, representative of Sattuj.
Rajesh Bharti, Labor Commissioner and Additional Chief Executive Officer of Bihar Skill Development Mission, said that training is necessary for food processing industry and skill development in the state. This will also create new employment and training opportunities for the youth.
