NDA’s preparations for Bihar elections 2025 have intensified. Seat sharing was discussed in the Nitish-BJP meeting, but the matter is stuck due to Chirag Paswan’s demand for 30 seats. NDA may release the list of candidates soon.
Patna: With the announcement of the dates of Bihar Assembly elections 2025, the political temperature of the capital Patna has increased rapidly. While the opposition grand alliance is embroiled in a tussle over seat distribution, the ruling party i.e. National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has intensified its preparations. On Tuesday night, in a three-hour long marathon meeting between Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and top BJP leaders, there was an in-depth discussion on everything from seat sharing to the primary list of candidates. If sources are to be believed, the meeting was “strategic and decisive” because not only the mathematics of seats but also the direction of the entire election narrative was decided in it.
Coordination within NDA, tension over Chirag continues
Sources reveal that top leaders of JDU, BJP, Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and LJP (Ram Vilas) were present in the meeting. The seat sharing formula has almost been decided within the NDA, but the issue is still stuck with Chirag Paswan. According to sources, BJP has offered Chirag 22 seats, whereas he is not ready to accept less than 30 seats. Inside news is also that Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had talked to Chirag separately so that there is no misunderstanding. If this deal is finalized, then NDA can formally announce the seats within two days.
“Friendly adjustment” between Nitish and BJP
Taking a lesson from the bitterness in the 2020 elections, this time both BJP and JDU have chosen the path of “friendly adjustment”. JDU National Executive President Sanjay Kumar Jha said that the talks in NDA are going on in a very smooth and positive environment. According to sources, both the parties have also agreed on swapping seats after looking at their respective survey reports and past election performance, so that mutual conflict can be avoided.
NDA’s “Vision 2025” ready
This time NDA is not just chanting the tune of ‘good governance’. BJP and JDU are jointly preparing a “Vision 2025 Document”, in which there will be special emphasis on youth employment, women empowerment, agriculture and industry development and law and order. According to sources, the NDA plans to organize “Vikas Samvad” programs in every district, where ministers and local leaders go among the public and tell the achievements of their government.
List of candidates soon
Both BJP and JDU have prepared seat-wise feedback and survey reports at their respective levels. The primary list of candidates is almost ready and now only the seal of approval of the high command is left. It is expected that the first candidate list of NDA will be released soon, so that the campaign can be started in full swing.
