Differences in NDA have emerged for Bihar elections 2025. JDU wants voting in 1 phase, while BJP in 2 stages. The Election Commission has taken suggestions from all parties and it is possible to announce the dates soon.
Patna: The political stir is at its peak with the call of Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. The high-level team of the Election Commission is in Patna these days and is constantly holding meetings with political parties. Meanwhile, in the meeting of the Commission with political parties on Saturday, two major constituents of NDA, BJP and JDU came out separately.
JDU wants election in a phase
JDU Executive National President Sanjay Jha said after meeting the Election Commission that the party wants the entire Bihar assembly elections to be held in the same phase. He said, “We have urged the Commission to vote in a single phase in Bihar. This will make better use of administrative resources and remain fairness. Long -term election increases both administrative and political pressure.”
Sanjay Jha further said that special security arrangements are needed at polling stations in Dalit, backward and Mahadalit areas. He demanded that central paramilitary forces be deployed at every booth so that there is no possibility of any kind of disturbance.
BJP’s opinion is different
At the same time, in the meeting on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party, State President Dilip Jaiswal gave a different opinion before the Commission. He said that it would be better to hold elections in two phases in Bihar, so that security and administrative management can be strong in every field.
The BJP also requested the Commission that the deployment of central forces in sensitive Diara areas should remain 24 hours, vigilance should be taken regarding the identity of women voters, especially the proper identity of women wearing burqas should be ensured and SMS alerts should be sent to all voters 24 hours before voting, so that the voting percentage can increase. The BJP also asked the Commission to conduct elections in Bihar as soon as possible, so that administrative preparations and political energy remains together.
Election Commission took feedback from all parties
In the Election Commission meeting, all the major parties including BJP, JDU, RJD, Congress, LJP-R, RLJP, Male, BSP and AAP made their suggestions. The Commission has requested all parties to cooperate for independent and fair elections. The commission will meet with administrative and police officers, which will include DM, SP, Divisional Commissioner and DIG level officials.
