During Bihar elections, the car of CPI(ML) MLA Dr. Satendra Yadav was attacked in Manjhi, Saran. He remained safe in the stone pelting that took place during voting, but his vehicle was damaged. The police is investigating the matter

While preparations were made to conduct the first phase of voting in Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 in a peaceful manner, a serious incident has come to light during voting in Manjhi Assembly constituency of Saran district. The car of CPI(ML) candidate and outgoing MLA Dr. Satendra Yadav was attacked by unknown people. In this attack, the front glass of his car was broken, although Dr. Yadav was not injured.

Attack took place during voting

The incident occurred when voting was going on and people were still queuing up at booths to cast their votes. Dr. Satendra Yadav was inspecting some polling stations in the area and meeting the workers. Meanwhile, suddenly some people surrounded his car and pelted stones. It is being told that the attackers escaped within a few seconds, which clearly shows that the attack was completely planned.

Local people became emotional, atmosphere heated

As soon as the news of the incident spread, nearby people gathered at the spot. There was anger among the supporters and the situation became tense for some time. Many voters said that “voting is the day of democracy, and being attacked at such a time clearly shows how tough the contest is.”

Politically sensitive Manjhi seat

This time the contest on Manjhi assembly seat is considered to be direct and interesting. In his previous tenure, Dr. Satendra Yadav is known for taking local issues to the Assembly, raising questions of farmers and workers and maintaining grassroots hold in the organization. His activism and working style have given him strong public support and in some places even direct opposition. Therefore, this attack is being considered not just as violence, but as a reflection of electoral pressure and political conflict.

Police took charge, investigation started

As soon as information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and took the situation under control. Saran SSP, Dr Kumar Ashish said, “The attack is being investigated. Those interfering in the election process will be identified and strict action will be taken. No one will be allowed to spoil the atmosphere.” While voting continues, additional forces have also been deployed in the area.
