Bihar Assembly Elections can be a contest of 2025 experience vs. Josh. The reason is that the NDA can enter the Sartha Maidan of its old formula. At the same time, the grand alliance is talking about giving a chance to the youth this time.
The strategy of political parties regarding ticket distribution has started to appear clearly as soon as the Bihar assembly elections come to 2025 nearby. This time the competition is not only for ideology and coalition, but also “generation war”. While the NDA (BJP-JDU) is showing confidence in its old and tried candidates, the Grand Alliance (RJD and Congress) are in the mood to bring the youth on the frontfoot.
BJP-JDU tride & tested formula
BJP and JDU adopted a “tride & tested” formula in the last three assembly elections. Statistics show that in the 2010, 2015 and 2020 elections, the BJP reiterated an average of 34 and JDU. These parties believe that “identity and ethnic equation” is the biggest weapon in a state like Bihar. Relying again on the leaders who create networks, connect with workers and re-trusting the leaders who have ethnic mathematics, not only keep the electoral land strong but also maintains organizational solidarity. This is the reason that NDA is also preparing to give tickets to a large number of old faces this time.
RJD-Congress Youth Card
On the contrary, both Tejashwi Yadav and Congress are insisting on playing “Youth Card”. Tejashwi has clearly stated that his party will bring young leaders to the mainstream of politics. RJD’s strategy is to field older faces as well as new and energetic candidates in 243 seats. The Congress is also demanding 65 seats and the matter of giving priority to new leaders is coming out in it. Although the biggest challenge of the Congress is its weak organization and factionalism, but the party is understanding that only by staying on the old faces will not be able to strengthen the hold in the elections.
Experience vs.
In the coming days, it will be interesting to see whether the “experience” bet is overwhelming or the grand alliance playing “Josh and new face”. On the one hand, while the NDA has won leaders and permanent vote banks, on the other hand RJD-Congress wants to present new energy and fresh image by giving youth a chance.
