BJP has made a list of probable candidates for 125 seats for Bihar Assembly elections 2025. Giving priority to winning ability, tickets of about 25 sitting MLAs may be cut. The final decision will be taken by the central leadership.
Patna: With the arrival of Bihar Assembly elections 2025, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified preparations on the election front. This time the party is moving ahead on the formula of new faces and victorious possibilities. Under this strategy, Bihar BJP has prepared a list of possible candidates for about 125 assembly seats. If sources are to be believed, there is a possibility of tickets of 25 sitting MLAs being cut from this list.
Brainstorming took place in a three-hour long meeting
In the marathon meeting that lasted for about three hours on Wednesday at the BJP state office, there was an intense brainstorming session regarding the candidates. Many senior leaders including State President Samrat Chaudhary, Organization General Secretary Bhikhu Bhai Dalsania, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, Union Minister Nityanand Rai, Giriraj Singh, Radha Mohan Singh were present in this meeting. According to sources, after discussion on 125 seats in the meeting, a list of at least three names from each assembly constituency has been prepared, which will now be sent to the Central Election Committee and the Parliamentary Board.
The blame may fall on 25 MLAs
This time BJP is working on Madhya Pradesh model, that is, the party is focusing on winning potential instead of seniority. The party leadership has indicated that action is certain against MLAs who are not active among the public or against whom there are allegations of corruption or anti-incumbency. According to sources, tickets of about 25 MLAs may be cut. These also include those MLAs against whom there are allegations of widespread discontent, inaction or rebellion in the area.
These MLAs are in danger of being denied tickets
According to information received from sources, among the MLAs whose tickets can be cut, names like Bhagirathi Devi of West Champaran, Rashmi Verma, Mishri Lal Yadav of Darbhanga, Gyanendra Singh Gyanu of Patna, Ramsurat Rai and Ashok Singh of Muzaffarpur, Amarendra Pratap Singh and Raghavendra Pratap Singh of Bhojpur are in discussion. Apart from this, considering the age and anti-incumbency factor of senior leaders like Nand Kishore Yadav (Patna Sahib) and Arun Kumar Sinha (Kumharar), the party is also considering a new strategy.
Final seal in Delhi
According to sources, this preliminary list of Bihar BJP will be presented in the Central Election Committee meeting to be held in Delhi. After getting the green signal from there, the first list of candidates will be released. The party wants the first phase of candidates to be fielded by the third week of October so that they can put their full strength into the campaign with the organization and workers.
Focus on new faces, preparations to field senior leaders
It was also discussed in the meeting that the party can also field some big leaders in Bihar. According to sources, names like Radha Mohan Singh, Giriraj Singh, Nityanand Rai, Sanjay Jaiswal and Shahnawaz Hussain are being discussed. The party believes that the entry of senior leaders will increase the enthusiasm among the workers and the voters will also get confidence in Team Modi-Team Samrat.
BJP’s mission 2025
This time BJP has taken the elections as Mission 2025. Party strategists say that this time BJP will contest elections on the formula of strong candidate + organization + development model. According to the party’s internal report, BJP’s position in many seats is better than in 2020. The organization claims that the public still trusts the development, stability and Modi brand of the central government.
