Bihar Election 2025: JVC Poll Predicts Close Contest in Bihar, NDA Holds Slim Edge Over Mahagathbandhan

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is projected to maintain a narrow lead over the Mahagathbandhan (MGB) in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, according to a JVC opinion poll telecast on Times Now.

The state will vote in two phases on November 6 and November 11 for its 243 Assembly seats. The fate of the candidates will be decided on November 14.

NDA Leads Slightly in Seat Projections

The JVC poll estimates that the NDA may secure between 120 and 140 seats, while the MGB could win 93 to 112 seats, indicating a close contest.

Within the NDA, the BJP is projected to win 70 to 81 seats, the JD(U) may get 42 to 48, LJP (Ram Vilas) could bag 5 to 7, HAM(S) is expected to win 2, and the RLM may secure 1 to 2 seats.

The MGB, led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), is projected to win 69 to 78 seats. The Congress may secure 9 to 17, while the Left parties – CPI(ML), CPI, and CPI(M) – are likely to win 14 to 17 seats together.

The Jan Suraaj Party, led by Prashant Kishor, may open its account with one seat, while AIMIM, BSP and others are projected to get 8 to 10 seats.

NDA Ahead in Vote Share

In terms of vote share, the NDA is projected to receive 41% to 43%, marginally ahead of the MGB’s 39% to 41%. The Jan Suraaj Party is expected to get 6% to 7%, and others may secure 10% to 11% of the votes.

Bihar Set for Two-Phase Polls

The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the poll schedule on October 6. Voting will be held in two phases – November 6 and 11, 2025 – followed by counting of votes on November 14.

The high-stakes election will determine whether the NDA, led by the BJP and JD(U), can retain power in Bihar, or if the MGB, spearheaded by Tejashwi Yadav’s RJD, can mount a comeback.
