Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday released the first list of its candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. The party has announced to contest elections on a total of 101 seats, out of which the names of candidates for 71 seats have been announced in the first list. This list not only contains names of many powerful and experienced leaders, but young faces and women have also been given prominence, which gives a clear glimpse of BJP’s election strategy. A total of 9 women candidates have been given tickets in this list, which was already indicated by the Bihar BJP President.
Remaining names will be announced soon
This first list released by BJP clearly indicates that the party has tried its best to achieve caste and regional balance. Adequate representation has been given to upper caste, OBC, EBC and Scheduled Caste candidates in the list. Along with retaining experienced leaders, the party has adopted a strategy to attract young voters by giving a chance to young and popular faces like Shreyasi Singh. The names of the candidates for the remaining 30 seats will be announced soon. These names will be finalized after the party’s Central Committee meeting.
