Bihar CM Samrat Choudhary Holds Review Meeting With DMs, SPs; Orders To Scan Wealth Of The Rich Along India-Nepal Border

State Bureau, Patna | Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary held a review meeting with the District Magistrates (DMs) and Superintendents (SPs) of the seven border districts, directing officials to strengthen security along the India-Nepal border.

The chief minister also instructed police to carry out strict monitoring of all sensitive spots along the border with Nepal. Choudhary warned officials that illegal activities in the region will not be tolerated.

Strict Surveillance Within 15-Kilometer Radius

The chief minister asserted that close surveillance be maintained within a 15-kilometre radius of all checkpoints along the India-Nepal border. Police and security agencies have been asked to remain vigilant to keep a close watch on economic crimes, suspicious activities, and illegal trade.

 

 

Police To Keep On Wealthy Individuals

Meanwhile, the government has decided to form special teams at the police station level in the seven border districts. These teams will identify and verify individuals whose income has suddenly increased abnormally compared to their known sources of income. A complete report of such cases will be prepared, and necessary legal action will be taken.

Joint Operation To Prevent Smuggling

He called for regular coordination meetings between the district administration, police, and Border Security Force (SSB) to prevent the smuggling of fertilisers and narcotics. He said that all agencies should work together to ensure effective control of illegal activities in the border areas.

The total length of the India-Nepal border adjoining Bihar is 735 kilometres. The border area encompasses seven districts, 70 police stations, and 194 Border Outposts (BOPs) of the SSB. All station in-charges were instructed to remain vigilant and monitor all activities in the border areas and maintain law and order.
