Why is the craze for Bihar Board increasing?
According to experts, Bihar Board has achieved success in conducting exams on time, declaring results early and improving the syllabus. This not only makes it easier for students to prepare for board exams, but can also prepare for national competitive exams like JEE Main, NEET and CUET in a better way. The online enrollment system during the COVID-19 pandemic also prompted students to change boards. As schools went offline, the number of students shifting from CBSE to BSEB stood at around 95,204.
The face behind the reforms in Bihar Board exam: Anand Kishore
After the 2016 topper controversy and corruption in the board, BSEB took steps to improve its image. After the arrest of the then presidents, Anand Kishore was appointed chairman of the board. Under his leadership the Board implemented transparency, timely results and technical reforms. For this work he also received the Prime Minister’s Award in 2022.

Dominance of girls in Bihar Board results
The performance of girls in Bihar Board has always been better. Even in 2025, 87.67% girls passed the intermediate examination, while the pass percentage of boys was 85.34%. Girls toppers dominated in all three streams – Arts, Commerce and Science.

Continuous improvement in overall pass percentage of Bihar Board Exam
Bihar Board Class 12 has seen a steady improvement in pass percentage. The pass percentage in 2018 was only 52.95%, whereas now it has reached 86.50%. Class 10 has also improved, down from 82.91% last year to 82.11%, but has been rising steadily over the years.
BSEB has completely changed its image in the last decade. Now this board is known for timely results, transparent process and syllabus suitable for competitive exam preparation. In such a situation, not only the students of Bihar but students from all over India are getting attracted towards BSEB.
