The final phase of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 is underway today, November 11, marking the conclusion of a fiercely contested electoral battle in the state.
Voting is taking place across 122 assembly constituencies spread over 20 districts, including key regions such as Tirhut, Seemanchal, Magadh, Shahabad, Kosi, and Mithilanchal. Polling is being conducted from 7 AM to either 5 PM or 6 PM, depending on the constituency. Around 3.7 crore eligible voters will decide the fate of 1,302 candidates, including several prominent leaders and women representatives from major political parties and regional fronts.
Exit polls are expected to be released after 6:30 PM this evening, providing an early indication of voter sentiment. Agencies such as Axis My India, CVoter, IPSOS, Jan Ki Baat, and Today’s Chanakya are conducting these surveys, which often signal trends but are not always accurate predictors of final results.
The main contest is between the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) – comprising the BJP, JD(U), LJP (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha, and Rashtriya Lok Morcha – and the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance), which includes the RJD, Congress, Vikas Sheel Insaan Party, CPI-ML, CPI, and CPM. Meanwhile, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party has emerged as a new challenger, making bold claims of either winning fewer than 10 seats or crossing the 150-seat mark.
The election results will be declared on November 14 after counting. As the final votes are cast, all eyes are on voter turnout and exit poll trends, which may offer early clues about Bihar’s next government.
