- 2. JDU candidate Krishna Kumar Mantu got 33,883 votes.

- 4. At that time JDU was with the Grand Alliance and NDA was broken.
2010: JDU’s first victory
- 1. Krishna Kumar Mantu (JDU) won by getting 29,508 votes.
- 2. Independent Sunil Kumar got 18,991 votes.
- 3. The victory margin was 10,517 votes.
- 4. This victory was considered to be the result of Nitish Kumar’s popularity and slogan of good governance.

- Brahmins and Bhumihars: the decisive upper caste vote bank
- Yadav and Kushwaha: RJD’s strong base
