Bigg Boss 20 contestant team has hit back at the online backlash coming her way after the Weekend Ka Vaar episode, and the way she was questioned by not just Rohit Shetty, but also ScoutOP’s girlfriend, Kaashvi Hiranandani.
While there have been all kinds of opinions, there’s been a lot of discussion on the way Love was treated.
Love Gill’s team issues statement after Bigg Boss 20 backlash over ScoutOP
The statement shared on her Instagram stories went on to call the entire turn of events a “public execution of her character”, while further highlighting how no woman must pay such a price for a man’s choices, while also criticising the double standards of painting a woman as a ‘calculated temptress ’, and making a grown man a victim.
The team also highlighted how Love’s boundaries were clear from day one, and that she always considered ScoutOP her brother.
The statement read, “Watching Love Gill stand utterly alone tonight – defenseless while her entire character was torn to shreds on national television -was nothing short of agonising. Her family is destroyed. Shattered into pieces.”
The statement also went on to question how everything that happened was rather opportunistic and for content, among other things and read, “Imagine being a mother, sitting at home, helpless as you watch the world ruthlessly vilify the daughter you raised. Imagine watching her take the blame for a man’s uncurbed emotions, while opportunistic influencers and clout-chasers turn her pain into content for likes, views, and headlines.” Questioning whether humanity has been stripped away or do people even care what happens to ‘a soul’ when it’s thrown under the bus ‘brutally’, Gill’s team clarified her position in the incident.

“The moment a grown man blurred those boundaries and confessed his feelings, society executed its oldest, most toxic double standard: blame the woman,” it added.
“Why is a grown man treated like a victim of hypnosis, while a girl is painted as a calculated temptress? Why is she expected to carry the burden, the shame, and the humiliation for feelings she never asked for and never reciprocated?” – the statement pointed out, questioning the sexisim of the whole situation.

The statement comes after host pulled up ScoutOP and Gill during the Weekend Ka Vaar episode over their closeness, and while it was feedback that many viewers think was needed, things sort of got worse just for Love Gill when ScoutOP’s girlfriend made an appearance on the show.
During an earlier Weekend Ka Vaar episode, Salman Khan had also indirectly asked Love if this is the kind of relationship she has with her younger brother too, and she was candid about it, but it was interesting how ScoutOP wasn’t asked anything.
And now, it looks like ScoutOP and Love’s bond sort of doesn’t exist, with a recent promo suggesting that the latter is disappointed how he never took a stand for her.
