Bollywood superstar Salman Khan shared a light-hearted moment with actor-politician Manoj Tiwari and his daughter Rhiti Tiwari on the sets of Bigg Boss 20, with an old controversy from the reality show’s fourth season becoming the centre of the banter.
In a new promo released by the makers, Manoj enters the Bigg Boss 20 stage while singing his popular song “Rinkiya Ke Papa”. Manoj, who participated in Bigg Boss 4, then tells Salman that he has come to the show not as a contestant but to drop off his daughter.
When Rhiti joins him on stage, Salman jokingly advises her, “Ghar ke andar, ande lo lekar kabhi fight nahi karna” (Do not fight over eggs when inside the house).
He then adds, “Ae baap pe mat jaana” (Don’t talk about my father), prompting Manoj to cover his face. Rhiti responds with a joke involving “baap”, leaving both Salman and her father laughing.
The exchange was a reference to Manoj’s infamous argument with Dolly Bindra during Bigg Boss 4. The two had clashed over breakfast after Manoj wanted an omelette while Dolly insisted that he first finish the leftovers. The argument became memorable after Manoj said, “Kitchen kisi ke baap ka nahi hai” (The kitchen doesn’t belong to anyone’s father), to which Dolly replied, “Baap pe bolna nahi” (Don’t talk about my father). The exchange later became a popular meme.
Salman has once again taken charge as host of Bigg Boss, having first taken over the show with its fourth season in 2010, replacing Amitabh Bachchan.
Ahead of the season 20 premiere on September 6, Salman also appeared irritated with paparazzi while posing for photographs on the sets. In a video, he asked photographers to maintain a proper distance from the stage and was later heard saying, “Yeh mera kaam nahi hai. Mujhe camera ke aage aane ki koi zarurat nahi hai” (This is not my job. I don’t need to come in front of the camera).
He subsequently appeared visibly annoyed when photographers continued asking him to pose, repeatedly responding, “Photos… photos… photos”. The exact reason for his irritation was not clear.
