The upcoming season of Bigg Boss 19 will see a major shift in its casting strategy. According to a report by The Free Press Journal, the makers of the show have decided not to include YouTubers or social media influencers this year. Instead, the show will return to its roots by featuring only celebrities from the television and film industries.
In previous seasons, digital stars like Elvish Yadav, Abhishek Malhan (Fukra Insaan), Rajat Dalal, and Manisha Rani made a strong impact with their personalities and gameplay. Their popularity surged after participating in the show, especially with younger audiences who follow social media platforms. However, this year’s decision marks a departure from that trend.
An industry source revealed, “This year, Bigg Boss will strictly have celebrities from the TV and film industries. YouTubers and influencers will not be approached.” The intention is to restore the traditional format and focus on celebrities who already have a presence in mainstream entertainment.
Although the final list of contestants hasn’t been officially released, the casting process is actively underway. Producers are in talks with several well-known names from television and Bollywood. The idea is to raise the show’s glam quotient and appeal to a broader audience that has been loyal to the original format.
