railway chart timing
If you often travel by train and are worried till the last moment about the waiting list or RAC ticket, then there is good news for you. Indian Railways has made a major change in the timing of preparation of reservation chart. The purpose of this new rule is to provide timely ticket confirmation information to passengers and reduce unnecessary stress.
Why was the time of making the chart changed?
Railway Ministry said that passengers going on long journeys especially face problems. Many people come from far-flung areas to catch the train and till the last moment they do not know whether their ticket is confirmed or not. In view of this problem, Railways has decided to prepare the first reservation chart first.
New rule for morning trains
According to the new guidelines, the first reservation chart for trains whose departure is between 5:01 am and 2 pm will now be prepared a day before by 8 pm. With this, passengers will know a night before whether their ticket has been confirmed, is in RAC or is still waiting.
What will change for day and night trains
The new rule will also be applicable for trains whose departure occurs between 2:01 pm to 11:59 pm. Apart from this, the first chart of trains running from midnight to 5 am will now be prepared at least 10 hours in advance. This means that passengers will have a clear idea of the status of their journey in advance.
What is the benefit for waiting list and RAC passengers?
Those with waiting list and RAC tickets will benefit the most from this change. Where earlier passengers expected confirmation only after reaching the station, now they will be able to decide in advance whether they want to travel or make alternative arrangements. This will save time, money and stress.
Increasing trend of ticket booking through IRCTC
Railways also said that now most of the people are using IRCTC website or app for ticket booking. Online booking is being preferred instead of counters at railway stations. According to recent data, more than 87 percent of the total reserved tickets booked in Indian Railways are e-tickets.
What is the special advice for travelers
If you are going to travel by train, then it has become more important than ever to pay attention to chart timing. Check the status of your ticket in time and plan your journey accordingly. This step of the Railways has been taken keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers and it is expected that the travel experience will be better than before.
