There is relief news for people traveling on Diwali. People traveling for festivals will no longer have to buy expensive flight tickets. The government is taking steps for this. Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu held a long meeting with officials of all major airlines of the country on Friday. In this meeting, the airlines’ operations, technical performance, safety and passengers’ complaints were discussed.

Officials of companies like Air India, IndiGo, Akasa Air, Alliance Air, Fly91, Flybig, India One Air and Air India Express were present in the meeting. The meeting lasted for about five hours. Minister Naidu gave strict instructions to the airlines to keep the air fares reasonable and affordable during festivals, so that passengers do not have to spend much.

The Union Minister asked the airlines to strictly follow the safety rules and improve the quality of services keeping in mind the convenience of passengers. In the meeting, discussions were held with each airline separately and solutions to the problems faced in their functioning were considered.

More flights will start

In a statement issued by the government, it was said that in view of the increasing number of passengers during festivals, the Minister has asked all the airlines to keep the fares under control and passengers should not face any problem. Airlines assured the minister that passenger convenience is their first priority and in view of the increasing crowd during festivals, additional flights are being started on congested routes.
