Nominations have started for Bihar elections 2025. Mokama’s powerful leader Anant Singh has got bail in a case, due to which he is likely to contest elections. The first phase of voting will be held on November 6 for 121 seats.
Patna: The first glimpse of Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 is now clearly visible. The first phase of voting is to be held on November 6 and the nomination process for it has started from today. In this phase, voting will be held on 121 assembly seats, which include Patna, Mokama, Barh and many other important seats. Meanwhile, Mokama’s strong leader and former MLA Anant Singh has got a big relief before entering the electoral fray. According to sources, Anant Singh is going to file nomination from Mokama from October 14, although it has not been officially announced yet.
Bail granted in threat case
Anant Singh had surrendered in the special court for criminal cases related to MP-MLA. After hearing the case, the court released him on bail in the case of abusing on mobile phone. Anant Singh’s lawyer Sunil Kumar Singh said that the matter was related to abusing a lawyer of Patna High Court on phone. The special court ordered his release on bail. During the hearing of this case, the court found that the charges against Anant Singh are bailable, and there is no need to send him to jail.
Cases of extortion and forced registration of land
According to sources, the statement of Anant Singh and RJD spokesperson Shravan Kumar alias Bantu Singh was recorded as accused in the case of demanding extortion and forcibly registering six and a half katha land. Both denied all the allegations. Advocate Sunil Kumar Singh said that the informant in this case had alleged that both of them were involved in the act of extortion and forceful transfer of land. The case is registered in Shri Krishnapuri police station area.

Anant Singh is an influential leader of Mokama and has a strong hold in the area for the last two decades. There are several criminal cases registered against him, the hearing of which is currently going on in the special court. Anant Singh’s hold in Mokama and surrounding areas is considered so strong that his entry into the election fray can change the strategic equations of RJD and other parties.
