Yogi government has intensified preparations for Magh Mela 2025. 270 special buses will run 24 hours from Kanpur region. There will be special arrangements on Mauni Amavasya and 50 shuttle buses will take devotees to the Sangam area.
Kanpur. After the successful organization of Maha Kumbh-2025, now the Yogi government has intensified the preparations for Magh Mela 2025. This time 270 Magh Mela special buses will be run from Kanpur region to bring the devotees to Prayagraj and back. These buses will remain in service 24 hours so that the devotees do not face any kind of problem.
270 Magh Mela special buses will run on 6 major bathing festivals
The focus of the Yogi government is to ensure that the devotees get buses on time and the journey remains smooth. This time during the 6 Snan festivals, devotees will be able to reach Prayagraj easily through these special buses. In view of the huge crowd of passengers, Kanpur Roadways has made concrete arrangements.
Buses will operate according to the number of passengers
Mahesh Kumar, Regional Manager of Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC), Kanpur Zone, said that 270 buses will be operated from Kanpur Zone for Magh Mela as per the availability of passengers, so that additional buses can be deployed immediately if needed.
Jhakarkati bus stand will become the main center
For the convenience of the devotees, Jhakarkati bus stand has been made the main center of bus operations. For better management, the responsibility of buses has been assigned to different depots.
Buses from these depots will remain on Prayagraj route
The regional manager said that during the Magh Mela, buses from Mati Depot (Kanpur Dehat), Fatehpur Depot, Unnao Depot have also been deployed on the Prayagraj route, so that adequate number of buses can be available to the devotees.
Arrangement of 50 special shuttle buses for devotees
Along with long distance buses, 50 shuttle buses will also be run. These shuttle buses will transport devotees from the outer bus stand of Prayagraj to places near the Sangam area and bring them back. Due to this, elderly people and children will not face any problem in walking.
Special attention to the condition and facilities of buses
According to the Transport Department, the condition of all the buses will be kept good. Special attention will be paid to fog lamps, headlights, horns, window catchers, condition of seats, cleanliness in buses. Apart from this, fair stickers will be put on all the buses according to the route, so that the devotees do not get confused and can easily identify their bus.
There will be strict vigil on Mauni Amavasya
The regional manager said that the biggest bathing festival of Magh Mela is Mauni Amavasya, the number of pilgrims is highest on this day. In view of this, preparations are being made to deploy additional ticket counter, help desk and additional staff at Jhakarkati bus stand.
You won’t have to wait more than 10-15 minutes
The frequency of buses has been decided in such a way that no devotee has to wait for more than 10 to 15 minutes. All depot managers have been put on alert. A reserve fleet has also been kept ready to immediately send another bus in place of the buses that break down.

- Makar Sankranti: 14 January
- Mauni Amavasya: 18 January (Most buses will run on this day)
- Basant Panchami: 23 January

Our priority is to provide better facilities to the devotees. Our aim is that no devotee coming from Kanpur and surrounding districts should have to wait to go to Prayagraj. A fleet of 270 buses is ready and officials will monitor it 24 hours. All depot managers and technical staff will be fully prepared so that the journey remains uninterrupted.
