If you take pension, then there is a very important information for you. The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW), Government of India, is running the fourth nationwide Digital Life Certificate (DLC) campaign across the country from November 1 to November 30, 2025. This campaign will be carried out to reach pensioners in 2,000 districts and sub-divisional headquarters across India. Its objective is that all pensioners continue to receive their pension regularly without any interruption.
Last date for DLC submission
Pensioners have been updated to submit their Digital Life Certificate between 1st and 30th November. The special thing is that senior citizens above 80 years of age can submit their certificates from October 1 itself. Failure to submit the Digital Life Certificate may hinder receipt of pension, hence it is very important to complete it on time.
What is Digital Life Certificate?
Digital Life Certificate (DLC) is a biometric and Aadhaar-based certificate, which every pensioner has to submit every year. This certificate proves that the pensioner is still alive and the pension can be continued. To deposit it, Aadhaar number, name, mobile number, and pension related information like PPO number, bank account details etc. are required.
How to submit digital life certificate?
To make this campaign successful, the government has worked with 19 pension disbursement banks, India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), Pensioners Welfare Association (PWA), Railways, Department of Telecommunications, UIDAI and Ministry of Electronics. For the convenience of pensioners, special camps will be organized in bank branches and post offices in big cities of the country. Apart from this, this service will also be provided at home or hospital for old, sick and disabled pensioners living at home.
Pensioners can submit digital life certificate in many ways. You can submit it along with Aadhaar authentication by visiting the online life certificate portal. Apart from this, one can also deposit through postman, through doorstep banking service, or by getting signature from designated officers.
Aadhaar number mandatory
Aadhaar number or Virtual ID (VID) is mandatory for making Digital Life Certificate. Without this it is not possible to create DLC. Therefore, if your Aadhar card has not been created or linked yet, then complete it as soon as possible.

The biggest advantage of digital life certificate is that pensioners do not have to go to government offices again and again to complete the paper process. This entire process has become online and digital, which saves both time and effort. Besides, this can also prevent fraud and wrong pension distribution.
