Free treatment up to ₹1.5 lakh for road accident victims
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address has now changed. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has now shifted from the walls of South Block to the new buildings ‘Seva Teerth’ and ‘Kartavya Bhawan’. As soon as he entered his new office on Friday, the Prime Minister first signed those files which can change the lives of every person walking on the road, farmers working in the fields and women trying to prove themselves.
‘PM Rahat’ will become support after the accident
Road accidents do not happen without warning, and many times after reaching the hospital, treatment gets delayed due to lack of money or paperwork, which proves fatal. To eliminate this problem from its roots, PM Modi has started ‘PM Rahat’ scheme. This decision is a relief to every family whose member goes out of the house for work.
The biggest feature of this scheme is its human aspect. Now any road accident victim will not have to worry about depositing money for treatment on reaching the hospital. The government will provide cashless treatment up to Rs 1.5 lakh. In this, you neither need any prior registration, nor any insurance policy, nor the hassle of showing income certificate. The objective is clear, paperwork later, saving lives first.
According to the rules of the scheme, if someone’s life is not in danger, he will be given ‘stabilization treatment’ for 24 hours. However, in serious cases where there is a risk to life, this time limit will be up to 48 hours. The government will bear the entire cost of treatment and later the hospital will take back the money from the government through digital claim. However, this facility will currently be available only in empaneled hospitals and the coverage is limited to 7 days.
Target of 6 crore lakhpati didis
The second major decision from the new office has been taken for those women of the country who are changing their destiny through self-help groups. The government has informed that the target of 3 crore ‘Lakhpati Didis’ has been achieved much ahead of time. The deadline of March 2027 was fixed, but this figure has now been exceeded. Now the government has resolved to create 6 crore lakhpati didis in the country by March 2029.
Government treasury open for youth
The government has also opened its treasury to strengthen agriculture. Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, which till now was worth Rs 1 lakh crore, has been doubled to Rs 2 lakh crore. This will help in strengthening warehouses, cold storage and other infrastructure at the village level, so that farmers can sell their crops at the right time and at the right price.
At the same time, ‘Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0’ has been approved for the youth. A corpus fund of Rs 10,000 crore has been prepared for this. This money will especially help in promoting early stage startups working on deep tech, manufacturing and new technologies.
