Big decision regarding UP Day 2026, name of Uttar Pradesh will echo across the country and abroad. Up Diwas 2026 Main Event Lucknow Yogi Adityanath

The main event of Uttar Pradesh Day 2026 will be held at Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave important instructions regarding the programs to be held from 24 to 26 January, ODOP exhibition, cultural events and arrangements for Magh Mela.

With the beginning of the new year, the government has become fully active in the preparations for Uttar Pradesh Day 2026. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made it clear that this time Uttar Pradesh Day will not be just an event, but a grand celebration of the state’s culture, heritage, talent and development journey. The main event of Uttar Pradesh Day, to be celebrated from 24 to 26 January, will be organized at Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Lucknow, while its enthusiasm will reach beyond the borders of the state and reach the country and abroad.

Special events will be held from 24 to 26 January

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a review meeting of the preparations for Uttar Pradesh Day on Thursday evening. He directed that Uttar Pradesh Day should be celebrated in all the districts of the state including Noida Shilpgram (Gautam Buddha Nagar). Besides, events should also be organized in other states of the country and those countries where a large number of residents of Uttar Pradesh live.

Instructions have been given to include theatrical presentations related to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Vande Mataram and ‘Anand Math’ in these events.

Instructions to make major events of January grand

The Chief Minister directed to celebrate 12 January (Youth Day), 23 January (Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti), 24 January (Uttar Pradesh Day), 25 January (National Tourism Day/Voter Awareness Day) and 26 January (Republic Day) on a grand scale.

Talents will get a platform from village to capital

The Chief Minister said that on the occasion of Uttar Pradesh Day, singing, musical instrument, dance and drama competitions should be organized at the block, city and district level.

  • Artists selected from district level get opportunities at divisional level.
  • Presentation of excellent artistes at Mandal level at the main function in Lucknow
  • Honors and awards to selected artists

Excellent people from these fields will be honored

Those doing excellent work in various fields will be honored on Uttar Pradesh Day, which include-

  • Uttar Pradesh Gaurav Samman
  • Entrepreneurs associated with ODOP and Vishwakarma Shram Samman
  • winners of sports competitions
  • women who excel
  • Doctors, progressive farmers and scientists

The Chief Minister also laid emphasis on giving platform to local artists, poets and litterateurs in the districts.

Cultural institutions will have active participation

The Chief Minister directed that institutions like Bhatkhande Sanskriti University, Sangeet Natak Academy and Lalit Kala Academy should be associated with the event. The use of old and traditional musical instruments will also be encouraged, to make the event more cultural and interesting.

The festival will reach the migrant people of Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh Day will also be celebrated among the migrant citizens of Uttar Pradesh living in other states including Delhi, Maharashtra. Governors, Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, Union Ministers and distinguished persons associated with Uttar Pradesh of the respective states will be invited to these events. Along with this, instructions have been given to honor three to five people who have done excellent work in the fields of entrepreneurship, business, education, art, science and administration while living in other states.

ODOP and GI tagged products will be the center of attraction

The Chief Minister said that during Uttar Pradesh Day, there should be extensive showcasing of all the GI tagged products and One District One Product (ODOP) of the state. Information about departmental schemes and achievements will also be displayed. This time there will be a special focus on one district, one cuisine.

Strictness on security and facilities in Magh Mela

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also reviewed the preparations for the Magh Mela starting from January 3 in Prayagraj. Laying special emphasis on safety, cleanliness, health and order, he gave instructions:

  • Adequate parking and toilet facilities
  • Continuous monitoring by CCTV
  • Life jacket mandatory for sailors
  • Ban on charging arbitrary fees from devotees
  • Strict action against adulterants

He said that devotees, Kalpavasis and bathers should not face any kind of inconvenience.

Officials should hold regular public hearings

The Chief Minister held a meeting with the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police and all the Additional Chief Secretaries and Principal Secretaries and directed that the officers should hold public hearings regularly.

  • Timely disposal of revenue cases
  • Deploying competent officers in the field
  • Merit based posting
  • Police officers fix accountability of subordinates

The Chief Minister clarified that the sensitivity and accountability of administration is the identity of good governance.
