Experience gained from OTS-2020, many cases were left in Covid
According to the data presented by the department in the meeting, a large number of cases were disposed of under the OTS-2020 scheme implemented in the year 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many allottees have not been able to make the final payment, due to which many cases are still pending. The Chief Minister said that keeping these experiences in mind, OTS-2026 should be made more practical and people-friendly.
Discount on lump sum payment, option of installments also
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed that suitable rebate on dues should be given to the allottees who make lump sum payment under the new OTS scheme. Also, the option of payment in installments should also be made available for such allottees who are unable to deposit the amount together due to financial reasons. He said that the basic objective of the scheme should be to provide relief to the common man and not to put him under additional burden.
Emphasis on timely disposal and user-friendly process
The Chief Minister clarified that every application received under OTS-2026 should be disposed of within the stipulated time. The resolution of defaulter cases should be expedited and the entire process should be made online, transparent and user-friendly, so that the allottees do not have to make repeated visits to the offices.
Instructions for wide dissemination
The Chief Minister also directed the department to ensure wide publicity of the ‘One Time Settlement Scheme’. He said that the information about the scheme should reach all the eligible allottees, for this, digital platforms, local level and other means should be used effectively, so that no eligible person is deprived of the benefits.
Thousands of allottees will get relief
The Chief Minister said that with the implementation of OTS-2026, thousands of allottees will get relief from the uncertainty that has been going on for years and the department will also get the necessary revenue. This scheme will not only be useful from the administrative point of view, but will also strengthen the people-centric and solution-oriented thinking of the government.
At present, the department has been instructed to finalize the provisions of the scheme. It is believed that the implementation of OTS-2026 will bring decisive momentum in the pending cases related to residential and commercial allotment.
