Afghan officials said that a Pakistani fighter jet has crashed in Jalalabad city on Saturday. According to police spokesperson Tayyab Hammad, the aircraft was shot down by the Afghan army in the sixth district of the city. He also confirmed that the pilot had been captured alive.

The pilot was captured alive

Local residents told AFP news agency that they had seen the pilot jump from the plane using a parachute, after which Afghan authorities took him into custody. Wahidullah Mohammadi, the army spokesman in eastern Afghanistan, also confirmed that the jet belonged to Pakistan and was shot down by the Afghan army.
