UP Government Ordinance: The temple trust ordinance for the management of Banke Bihari temple and the facilities of devotees has been introduced in the Vidhan Sabha. This ordinance provides for providing security in the temple without affecting religious traditions.

Lucknow News: The Government of Uttar Pradesh has placed the ‘Shri Banke Bihari Ji Temple Trust Ordinance, 2025’ on the table of ‘Shri Banke Bihari Ji Temple Trust Ordinance, 2025’ for the operation, protection and convenience of the world -famous Banke Bihari Temple in Mathura. This ordinance will pave the way for traditional worship and religious beliefs to give a modern form of management, security and service-facilities. With the implementation of this ordinance, the Banke Bihari Ji Temple will not only maintain its ancient spiritual traditions, but will also provide safe, easy and modern experience to the devotees.

Main objective of trust

The uninterrupted continuity of the rituals, festivals and rituals that have been going on since the time of Swami Haridas

Arrangement of safe and spontaneous philosophy for devotees

Prasad distribution, access to disabled and senior citizens

Modern facilities like ▪️ Payjal, resting place, queue management, gaushala, gram

Expert counseling for structural security and long -term protection of the temple

Financial transparency in management of ▪️ donation, offer and assets

Safety and planned development of the surrounding area

Board structure

The trust will be run by an 18 -member trustee board. It will have 11 nominees, including 3 from Vaishnav traditions, 3 from other Sanatan traditions, 3 prestigious persons from different regions, 2 from Goswami tradition (Raj-Bhog and Sleep-Bhog Sevayat). Apart from this, there will be 7 ex -officio members, including District Magistrate Mathura, Senior Superintendent of Police, CEO of Braj Tirtha Vikas Parishad, an officer of the Charitable Affairs Department, CEO of Shri Banke Bihari Temple Trust and a member nominated by the State Government. The tenure of the nominee trustees will be 3 years, the reconstruction will be maximum twice. All trustees will be those who believe in Hindu and Sanatan Dharma.

Permission for purchase and sale of assets up to Rs 20 lakh, acceptance of the state government is mandatory

The state government will not interfere

The ordinance clarifies that there will be no interference in the religious and cultural traditions of the temple. All religious aspects will be honored according to Article 19 (1) (a), 19 (1) (6), 25 and 26 of the Constitution. The objective of the state government is only to ensure financial transparency and accountable use of resources, not to assert any right over temple assets.
