Big BREAKING – Bihar Elections: NDA announces seat sharing for Assembly polls, BJP and JDU to contest on.

Patna: After days of crucial meetings and discussions, ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Sunday evening announced the seat-sharing formula for the key Bihar Assembly elections.

As per the list, the BJP and JDU to contest on 101 seats each, while LJP (Ram Vilas) will contest on 29 seats. Rashtriya Lok Morcha and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) to contest on 6 seats each.

 

 

The announcement comes after senior leaders of the NDA, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda conducted a series of meetings in the national capital. The meetings were held in a big to put a final stamp on seat-sharing pact and select the candidates for the upcoming assembly elections.

The NDA includes – the Janata Dal-United (JD-U), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) and Rashtriya Lok Morcha.

 

 

 

According to sources, the JD-U will lead the alliance and BJP will back it.

On Hindustani Awam Morcha getting six seats, party leader and Union Minister and Hindustan Jitan Ram Manjhi sayd, “In the Parliament, we were given only one seat, were we upset? Similarly, if we got only 6 seats, it is the decision of the high command. We accept it… We are content with what we have been given. I have no complaints…”

 

 

 

While the ruling NDA has announced its seat sharing, the Mahagathbandhan has not made any announcement or been able to arrive on a consensus over it yet. As the nomination process for the first phase starts, the coalition members of the grand alliance are now in a rush to finalise their seat-sharing agreement and choose their candidates.

The Mahagathbandhan includes Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress, Left parties, and Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP).

The upcoming assembly polls will have a major battle between the NDA, headed by the BJP and (JD(U)), and the INDIA coalition, led by Tejashwi Yadav from the RJD. Additionally, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj has also asserted claims to all 243 seats in the state.

Bihar assembly elections will be held in two phases for all 243 constituencies on November 6 and November 11. Counting of votes will be held on November 14.
