Big blunders happened in BCCI Awards, such mistakes were made regarding Shubman Gill and Team India

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) once again organized its annual awards program with great pomp and show. This program, known as Naman Awards, was held in New Delhi instead of Mumbai this time, where 5 Indian teams that won different ICC trophies in the last one year were honoured, while many star players and legends including Shubman Gill, Smriti Mandhana, Rahul Dravid were given awards. But while the players were appreciated for their performance and contribution in this event, two such big mistakes were made by the organizers, due to which BCCI got embarrassed on social media.

On Sunday, March 15, BCCI announced the selection of players and Awards to Indian teams Were given. During this, medals were given to the players of the Indian teams that won the Under-19 Women’s World Cup, Champions Trophy, Women’s ODI World Cup, T20 World Cup 2026 and Under-19 Men’s World Cup. This is where the first big mistake happened, which was immediately noticed by the sharp-eyed Indian fans because the event was being telecast live on Star Sports.

Wrong photo of world champion team

In fact, when the players of the team that won the Under-19 Women’s World Cup 2025 were called to honour, the wrong photo was displayed on the screen behind the stage. Here, instead of the photo of the Under-19 women’s team, the photo of the senior women’s team captained by Harmanpreet Kaur, which won the ICC Women’s World Cup title in November 2025, was put up. The surprising thing is that this mistake was not noticed by the organizers and was not removed. In such a situation, as long as the entire Under-19 team was on the stage, the same photo remained.

Made this blunder regarding Shubman Gill

If this mistake was not enough, then after this another big blunder happened, due to which some fans got angry. Amidst honoring the players and captains, a discussion was also organized by seating the captains of the title-winning senior teams at the event. Women’s World Cup winning team captain Harmanpreet and T20 World Champion captain Suryakumar Yadav were also there. Champions Trophy winning captain Rohit Sharma was not present, so in his place vice-captain Shubman Gill took charge of the discussion.

But when Gill’s name appeared on the screen, Champions Trophy winning captain was written in front of him. This mistake enraged many fans, especially Rohit Sharma’s fans, who expressed their anger on social media. When BCCI posted its video on its social media account, this mistake continued in that too. However, after the reaction of the fans, BCCI’s media team removed it. But these mistakes spoiled the fun of the fans watching this event on TV screen.
