Big Blow For India! Injured Rishabh Pant Set To Miss Two Major Series Including Asia Cup 2025: Report

India registered a memorable series draw against England in the recently conculded 5-match Test series by a margin of 2-2. Despite the positive result in the series, they had a big headache as Rishabh Pant suffered a toe fracture during the fourth Test of the series.

He did not even play the final match of the series at The Oval. Pant was released from the squad, and now there is an update regarding when he might return from the injury. While there is a positive side to it, the worrying thing is he will miss at least two major series.

According to a report by The Times of India, Rishabh Pant might not require surgery for his toe fracture. However, he will miss six weeks of action at least. This means he will not be part of the Asia Cup 2025 in September and the two-match Test series at home against West Indies.

Pant is not India’s regular wicketkeeper-batter in T20Is, and hence him missing the Asia Cup will not be a major worry for Team India. However, his absence could prove a major factor vs West Indies, since he is the vice-captain and one of the best Test batters in the Indian lineup.

How Rishabh Pant Suffered Injury

In what was a pretty bad news for the Indian Team management, Rishabh Pant was seriously injured while facing a ball from Chris Woakes in the first innings of the fourth Test at Manchester. The ball hit his foot, and he was left seething in pain, as he had to be carried back to the dressing room on a golf cart. He was subsequently ruled out from wicketkeeping in the Test match, and was later ruled out of the series.

Despite his injury, Rishabh Pant, showed an act of absolute valour as he came out to bat even though his toe was broken. He even slammed a half-centtury, helping India scored 358.
