Big announcement from Central Government: Great news for LPG users – News Himachali News Himachali

The impact of the recent disruptions in the gas supply chain at the international level is being seen in India as well. In some areas, situations like delay in delivery of gas cylinders and shortage at local level have come to light.

However, the government has clarified that there is no official shortage of LPG in the country. Meanwhile, the government has given an important clarification for LPG consumers, which has provided relief to lakhs of people.

What did the government clarify regarding e-KYC?

The government has ended the ongoing confusion regarding Aadhaar based e-KYC. According to the new rule, e-KYC is not mandatory for every LPG consumer. This is necessary only for those users who have not yet completed the e-KYC process. If a consumer has already done e-KYC, then he does not need to do this process again. This has brought great relief to those people who were worried about getting e-KYC done again and again.

For which users is e-KYC process necessary?

According to the government, only those consumers will have to get e-KYC done whose process has not been completed yet. Rest of the users can continue their gas supply without any worry.

Rules for beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme

Different rules are applicable for beneficiaries covered under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY). These consumers do not need to get e-KYC done every time. They have to do e-KYC once a year, that too only if they want to avail subsidy on 8th and 9th gas refill after 7 refills.

Complete the e-KYC process sitting at home

The government has made the e-KYC process very easy. Now consumers can complete it online sitting at home and do not have to pay any fee for it. For this, go to your gas company’s website or app (Indane, Bharat Gas, HP Gas), select “e-KYC” or “Update Aadhaar” option, enter LPG ID or consumer number, complete verification through OTP by entering Aadhaar number.

The government says that the purpose of e-KYC is to make the LPG distribution system transparent. This will ensure that subsidies reach the right people and prevent fake connections.
