Big action on betting apps before IPL, 300 platforms blocked

The government has taken a big step against illegal online betting and gambling in the country. To prevent violation of rules, about 300 websites and mobile apps have been blocked. This action has been taken in view of the increasing irregularities in the online gaming sector.

On which platforms the action was taken

According to government sources, this action includes online sports betting sites, digital casinos and peer-to-peer betting platforms. On these platforms, people were charged money through games like slots, roulette and live dealer. Apart from this, Satta-Matka network and real money gaming apps have also been targeted.

Action has been taken on thousands of sites so far

According to the report, a total of 8,400 illegal websites and apps have been blocked so far. Of these, about 4,900 platforms have been removed after the implementation of new laws related to online gaming. This shows that the government is adopting a very strict stance regarding the rules in this sector.

Why was this action necessary?

Consumers were at risk of huge financial losses due to the increasing trend of online betting and gambling. In many cases, risks related to fraud and data security have also come to light. This is the reason why the government has started tightening the noose on these platforms.

Action will continue further

The government has clearly indicated that the campaign against illegal online activities will continue in the future. Platforms violating the rules will be continuously monitored and strict action will be taken if necessary. This is expected to increase transparency and security in the online gaming sector.
