CMET Center Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh is taking a big step towards becoming the center of green energy. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that the CMET center has been started in collaboration with UC Berkeley and Manit Bhopal to promote renewable energy in the state.

Bhopal News: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said that Madhya Pradesh is emerging as a major center of innovative energy. Madhya Pradesh is becoming a center of attraction for multinational companies committed to green energy. Multinational companies are keen to set up their construction units here. The state government is committed to providing all possible cooperation and innovation to the research and innovations being done to provide electricity to farmers and public at affordable rates from solar energy and other alternative sources.

Discussion on the objectives of cooperation in the meeting

The Chief Minister said this during a courtesy meeting with Mohit Bhargava, Vice President Climet Foundation’s Vice President Clay Stranger and Seema Paul, India Energy and Climate Center (IECC) Senior Advisor Mohit Bhargava, India Energy and Climate Center (IECC). In the meeting, a shared commitment was expressed for the clean and sustainable future with discussion on the objectives of cooperation.

Additional Chief Secretary Manu Srivastava said

An MoU has been signed between the Department of New and Innovative Energy and Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (Manit), Bhopal in collaboration with the University of California Berkeley. Under this, the ‘Center for Mission on Energy Transition’ (CMET) was launched in Manit on Thursday. This center will work in the field of future energy needs of India and will help in setting necessary suggestions and strategies in view of academic-policy and industrial needs.

Manit Bhopal Director K.K. Shukla said

The Center, starting in collaboration with the University of Berkeley, University of California and Global Partner Sequoia Climate Fondation, reflects academic policy formation and excellent cooperation between industrial areas to accelerate energy change in India. Representatives of the leading energy sector institutions GIZed, CEEW, WRI, CSIS and Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation also participated in the program. With the introduction of Energy Change Mission Center (CMET), advanced research can be done on clean and renewable energy systems. Data based suggestions and solutions will be provided to policy makers. Innovations can be developed for grid stability, energy storage and demand side management. It will also help in building capacity through training workshops and global knowledge exchange.

Managing Director Madhya Pradesh Energy Development Corporation Limited Aman Bir Singh Bains informed that the new and renewable MoU of the new and renewed Energy and MOU of Manit can be fulfilled in a phased manner to promote renewable energy in Madhya Pradesh.
