Bharti Singh: From Tragedy to Triumph as the Comedy Queen

Bharti Singh is one of the most renowned and successful comedians in the Indian entertainment industry, often referred to as the ‘Comedy Queen.’ She is a popular stand-up comedian, actress, and television host.

Born on July 3, 1984, in a humble Punjabi family in Amritsar, Bharti faced immense challenges early in life. Her father passed away when she was just two years old. Despite this tragedy, she completed her graduation in Punjab.

Bharti began her career in 2008 as a contestant on the Star One show ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge,’ where her comedic talent was widely appreciated, earning her the position of second runner-up.

Following this, she showcased her hosting and comedic skills in numerous comedy and reality shows, gaining recognition among audiences. Notable programs include ‘The Kapil Sharma Show,’ ‘Comedy Nights Bachao,’ ‘Laughter Chefs,’ ‘Comedy Circus,’ ‘Khatra Khatra Khatra,’ ‘Bittu Bak-Bak,’ ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa,’ ‘Hunarbaaz,’ and ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi.’

Characters like ‘Bittu’ and ‘Lalli’ have left a lasting impression on viewers, establishing her unique identity in households across India. On June 30, Bharti concluded her popular TV show ‘Laughter Chefs – Unlimited Entertainment’ on Colors TV, where she served as the host. The show featured renowned chef Harpal Singh Sokhi as a judge, challenging TV and social media stars to create delicious dishes amidst laughter.

On December 3, 2017, Bharti married her long-time boyfriend, famous TV writer and host Harsh Limbachiya. The couple has two sons, Lakshya Limbachiya (Gola) and Yashveer Limbachiya (Kaju), and they reside in Mumbai.
