Yamuna honored her brother a lot, served him delicious food and applied tilak to him. Pleased with his sister’s love, Yamraj gave a boon to Yamuna that the brother who goes to his sister’s house on this day and gets tilak done and eats food cooked by her, will not have to fear untimely death and will live a long life. This festival brings sweetness and strength in the relationship between brother and sister. There is also a special tradition of worshiping Yamraj and Chitragupta on this day.
