National Film Award winning filmmaker Kamakhya Narayan Singh is returning to direct ‘Beyond the Kerala Story’, starring Aditi Bhatia, Ulka Gupta and Aishwarya Ojha in lead roles.

The sequel of ‘The Kerala Story 2’ will be named Beyond The Kerala Story. The slogan “Ab sahenge nahi… ladenge” in its teaser gives a strong hint. This film of Sunshine Pictures Limited, produced under the banner of Vipul Amritlal Shah, is going to be released on February 27. The film is based on true events of three women who were converted to Islam by their husbands.

The filmmaker has released the teaser of ‘Beyond the Kerala Story’, which takes the story of the first film forward. The teaser reveals that the film is inspired by several true events, showcasing the stories of three women – Surekha Nair (aspiring to become an IAS officer), Neha Sant (javelin thrower) and Divya Paliwal (interested in becoming a social media influencer). The film depicts his forced conversion to Islam and his personal conflicts and personal battles. The film ‘The Kerala Story’ directed by Sudipto Sen was released in theaters on May 5, 2023. The film, starring Adah Sharma, Siddhi Idnani, Yogita Bihani and Sonia Balani, grossed Rs 300 crore globally. ‘The Kerala Story’ won Best Direction and Best Cinematography for Prashantanu Mohapatra at the 71st National Film Awards last year. ‘The Kerala Story’ producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah is producing the film under his banner Sunshine Pictures Limited, and Aashin A Shah is attached as co-producer. Some Muslim organizations had opposed The Kerala Story, calling it a propaganda movie.
