Advertisement of ‘Need a man who can give the happiness of becoming a mother’
A 44-year-old man living in Pune, Maharashtra saw an advertisement on social media. The advertisement said that she needed a man who could get her pregnant, and in return she would give him Rs 25 lakh. By believing this greedy advertisement, the person got trapped in the trap of fraudsters. The fraudsters extorted Rs 11 lakh from him under various pretexts.
Woman’s video on social media
An FIR has been registered at Baner Police Station in connection with this incident. The contractor who was duped by this online advertisement had seen this ‘Pregnant Job’ advertisement in the first week of September. It contained a video of a woman talking in Hindi. In the video, the woman was saying, “I want a man who can make me a mother and give me the joy of becoming a mother. I will give him Rs 25 lakh. Even if he is illiterate, he will be fine, he will be from any caste, and even if he is not good looking, it doesn’t matter.” A phone number was also given along with the video to contact those who are interested in this work.
When the contractor called this number, the person who answered the phone introduced himself as an assistant of the ‘Pregnant Job’ agency. He told the contractor that to live with the woman, he would have to register. He was asked to register with the company and get a company ID card made.
Within a few days, the accused started collecting money from the victim in the name of registration fees, ID card fees, verification fees, GST, TDS, and processing fees. The victim has said in his complaint to the police that he was so lured that he transferred a total of Rs 11 lakh in more than 100 small transactions from the first week of September to October 23. He had sent all this amount through UPI and IMPS.
But when the victim started asking them questions, the fraudsters blocked his number. After this he realized that he had become a victim of fraud. Then he lodged a complaint with the police and got an FIR registered. A police officer said that the mobile phones and bank accounts used in this fraud are being investigated.
A cyber investigation officer of Pune said that the number of people committing fraud using social media and losing lakhs of rupees is increasing day by day. Since the end of 2022, many people have become victims of such frauds in many parts of India. In many cases, cyber fraudsters place advertisements on social media with videos of women in the name of agencies like ‘Pregnant Job Service’. They lure men by offering lakhs of rupees to impregnate women. Victims are attracted towards these advertisements due to the lure of this huge amount of money. Then a huge amount of money is demanded from them in the name of registration fees, medical examination, legal procedures or security deposit. After taking money from people, fraudsters disappear. Police of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and other states have also arrested the accused in such cases.
