Bengaluru Traffic: A video of a man from Bengaluru has gone viral, in which he showed how it took more than an hour to travel 6.5 kilometers. This video has sparked a new debate on the city’s terrible traffic jams and the daily difficulties of the people.
Bengaluru: Everyone who lives in Bengaluru knows that the city’s traffic, also known as ‘silicon traffic’ by some, is no joke. Social media is filled with stories of this daily struggle. Now, a video shared on Instagram by a Bengaluru resident named Pankaj Huriya is going viral. This video perfectly captures the pain of commuting in the city.
more than an hour for short distances
Pankaj left his house at 9:15 in the morning. His office is just 6.5 kilometers away. But even after spending more than half an hour on the road, he was nowhere near his destination. In the video he showed the screen of his Google Maps. The maps were showing that there was still 4.4 kilometers to go and the estimated time of arrival was 10:16 am. This meant that it was going to take them more than an hour to cover the nominal distance of 6.5 kilometres!

Pankaj wrote in the caption of the video, ‘This is the reality of Bengaluru’. As expected, the video went viral and people gave various reactions to it. Many users also expressed their problems along with their problems. One person commented, ‘Same is the situation in Delhi, it takes more than 45 minutes to cover this distance.’ Some people also advised, ‘If you had used a bike or scooter instead of a car, you would have reached there sooner’.
However, some people also criticized Pankaj. One user wrote, ‘This is not just a traffic problem, it is your problem too. If you had left early, you could have reached in 15-20 minutes. Don’t create a bad image of the city.
