There is a huge problem of traffic jam in Bengaluru
There is a huge problem of traffic jams in Bengaluru. It takes people hours to reach from one place to another. The same situation is in Sarjapur, Bengaluru. There is an office of Wipro here. If trains are allowed to come out of the Wipro complex, then the problem of traffic jam in the area may be reduced. The Chief Minister had asked in his letter whether Wipro could open its Sarjapur campus for public vehicles?
SEZ is Sarjapur campus, cannot open for external trains
Premji has refused to open the Wipro campus to external trains. He appreciated Siddaramaiah’s appeal for corporate cooperation to deal with traffic jams on Outer Ring Road in Bangalore. He informed that the campus at Sarjapur has been declared a special economic zone (SEZ). Due to global service commitment, it is bound by strict entry control rules.

Premji said that long -term solutions will have to be developed to deal with the congestion of vehicles on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) in Bengaluru. This requires study under the leadership of scientists and experts. The ORR is a major export-oriented corridor. Therefore it will require a broad and figures based approach rather than solutions in pieces. They said,
The complexity of the problem stems for several reasons. It is impossible to have a one-point solution or a fixed solution. The most effective way to move forward in this direction is to conduct a comprehensive, scientific study under the leadership of a world class expertise in urban transport management. Such a process will enable us to develop a holistic roadmap of effective solutions.
