Bengaluru: The city is expected to see a temporary break from intense summer heat as weather conditions begin to shift. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms and rainfall activity from Tuesday onwards, bringing much-needed relief to residents.
Bengaluru rain
According to the IMD, light to moderate rain or thundershowers, along with gusty winds of 40–50 kmph, are expected at isolated locations in Bengaluru Urban and Rural districts during the afternoon or evening between Tuesday and Thursday.
The forecast also noted storm activity during this period. The IMD has predicted “thunderstorm accompanied with lightning” conditions are likely on multiple days, particularly between 28 April and 30 April.
Bengaluru weather forecast
Despite the rain expected next week, temperatures are expected to stay relatively warm. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 35 degrees Celsius, while the minimum may remain near 23 degrees Celsius. However, partly cloudy skies are expected to offer slight relief even before rainfall begins.
In recent weeks, Bengaluru has been recording above-normal temperatures.
On Friday, the city observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 35.6 degrees Celsius, which was 1.4 degrees Celsius above normal.
7-day weather outlook
The forecast suggests partly cloudy conditions from 24 to 27 April, followed by increased chances of rain and thunderstorms from 28 April onwards. Gusty winds and lightning activity are expected during the late afternoons and evenings.
