The accused, 18-year-old Karnal Kurai, has been arrested by the police in the incident that took place in Subramanya Layout on January 3. The truth he revealed during interrogation is extremely shocking. He told that he had done recce of the place thrice to plan how to enter Sharmila’s house and how to escape after the incident.
Tried to rape, didn’t let go even after pleading
The accused entered the house through the back door of the house and started trying to rape Sharmila. When Sharmila protested and tried to escape, her head hit the sofa and she started bleeding profusely. Despite this, the beast did not leave Sharmila. Sharmila folded her hands and begged him to leave her, but he strangled her to death with both his hands.
Police also stunned after hearing the brutality after the murder
Even after the murder, the brutality of the accused did not stop. He told the police that after killing Sharmila, he took off her blood stained clothes and cleaned the blood stains with the same clothes. After this he also tried to rape the dead body, but he had premature ejaculation. Hearing this, even the policemen were stunned. Later he took out clothes from the cupboard and made Sharmila wear them and made her lie on the bed. He threw his pants on a tree in a nearby house. To destroy the evidence, he set the house on fire with tissue paper, which filled the entire house with smoke and destroyed many important evidences including fingerprints. He also broke Sharmila’s mobile phone.
Gathering evidence became a challenge for the police
In this murder case of Sharmila, who worked in an Accenture company, the murderer has very cleverly destroyed the evidence. The police could not find fingerprints because the house was set on fire, which is a big challenge. At present, the police are waiting for the FSL (Forensic Science Lab) report. This report confirming the attempted rape will prove to be the most important evidence in this case.
