Bengaluru Rain Alert! Heavy Rainfall To Lash Parts of Karnataka This Week-Check Dates, IMD Forecast

Several regions of Karnataka including Bengaluru, are on high alert as Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) issued a seven-day advisory for residents, urging them to stay alert and prepared.

The rain will be accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds, as per the predictions.

When and where is rain expected?

According to the KSNDMC, scattered to moderate rain is expected from October 8 to 17 in the districts of the Krishna basin.

Meanwhile, the coastal districts, Malnad region and southern interior parts are likely to receive heavy rainfall at isolated locations between October 8 and October 12.

Moreover, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) also released district-wise warnings for Karnataka, predicting heavy rainfall for the next five days.

Skymet weather on the other side stressed that October is historically Bengaluru’s second wettest month, predicting intense rainfall in the coming days.

Bengaluru has recorded 16.6mm in the first six days of the month and 7mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours.

Bengaluru weather tomorrow

The IMD has predicted light rain for tomorrow in Bengaluru, with generally cloudy sky with “one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.”

Meanwhile, the minimum temperature will be 20 degrees Celsius, and the maximum will be 29 degrees Celsius.

Yesterday’s rain left several parts of Bengaluru flooded, with uprooted trees, and caused traffic disruptions across the city. The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) released data, stating that seven trees were uprooted and 25 tree branches snapped due to heavy, gusty winds, accompanied by showers.

Bengaluru Traffic Police issued multiple advisories as trees fell and waterlogging obstructed several major routes across the city.
