Bengaluru Traffic News: With Bengaluru authorities earlier exploring the idea of implementing ‘work from home Wednesdays’ to reduce traffic, a Reddit post has revived public frustration over midweek commute chaos. A city resident questioned whether Wednesday had unofficially become the day to avoid office travel, after facing extreme delays and inflated cab fares.
The Redditor shared that despite leaving on time, he had to wait almost an hour to get a cab for a 6-km journey and was quoted Rs 415 for the ride. “I know the brackets when to leave home to avoid all this drama and I’m well within my bracket,” the user wrote. “What next? Should I leave at 7? Then gradually at 6?”
The post quickly went viral, with several users echoing his concerns and sharing similar midweek struggles. Many pointed out that traffic, delayed cabs and crowded buses were becoming a routine Wednesday headache.

One user wrote: “Apps check how many hits they get for new bookings in a specific location. The more you reattempt, the more the price climbs. One hack I’ve found: let it try booking and time out, then search again. Sometimes the fare drops.”
Another suggested the problem may have been worse due to a possible bus strike. “Think there’s a bus strike today and the fares are too high because of that,” they noted.
When someone recommended public transport as an alternative, the original poster replied, “People are legit falling off the bus, it’s that overcrowded.”
